Team History

Trackhouse Racing is one of NASCAR's most exciting young teams, founded in 2020 by Justin Marks, a former racing driver turned entrepreneur. Marks envisioned Trackhouse as more than just a racing team - it would be an entertainment brand that connected motorsport with music, culture, and lifestyle. Pitbull, the Grammy-winning rapper and entertainer, was an early co-owner and helped establish the team's unique cultural identity in a sport that has traditionally been slow to embrace outside influences.

The team debuted in the Cup Series in 2021 with Daniel Suarez driving the No. 99 Chevrolet, aligned with Richard Childress Racing for technical support. Trackhouse made a massive leap in 2022 when Marks acquired Chip Ganassi's NASCAR operations, instantly gaining two charters, equipment, personnel, and infrastructure. The acquisition brought Ross Chastain into the fold, and the No. 1 Chevrolet became the team's flagship car. Chastain had a breakout 2022 season, winning twice and making the Championship 4, while Suarez also earned his first career victory.

The Ganassi acquisition was a turning point that transformed Trackhouse from a plucky startup into a genuine contender almost overnight.
