Biography
Santino Ferrucci is one of the most versatile and determined drivers in the NTT IndyCar Series. Born in Woodbury, Connecticut, Ferrucci began his racing career in Europe, competing in FIA Formula 3 and Formula 2. He made the transition to American racing and has since become a core part of the IndyCar paddock, now entering his fourth consecutive season with A.J. Foyt Enterprises and his sixth full-time IndyCar campaign overall.
Ferrucci announced himself on the biggest stage in American racing at the 2019 Indianapolis 500, where he earned Rookie of the Year honors with an impressive performance at the Brickyard. His affinity for the 2.5-mile oval was further demonstrated in 2023 when he finished third in the Indy 500 driving for A.J. Foyt Enterprises - the best result for the iconic team since 2000 and a performance that signaled Ferrucci's arrival as a genuine threat on ovals.
Beyond his Indy 500 highlights, Ferrucci has proven himself as a capable all-around competitor. He earned his first career pole position at Portland and achieved his career-best championship finish of ninth in 2024. His second-place finish at Detroit in 2025 showed that he can challenge at the front of the field on street circuits as well. The consistency and improvement he has shown year over year have made him an important part of the Foyt organization's resurgence.
Now 27, Ferrucci is entering the prime of his career. The stability of his relationship with A.J. Foyt Enterprises - one of the longest driver-team partnerships on the current grid - has allowed him to develop alongside the team as it grows in competitiveness. With rookie teammate Caio Collet alongside him for 2026, Ferrucci takes on the role of team leader and veteran presence, driving the No. 14 Chevrolet with the experience and hunger that come from years of steady progress.
