Biography

Kyle Busch is one of the most accomplished and polarizing figures in NASCAR history. With over 220 combined wins across NASCAR's top three series, he holds the all-time record for victories in both the Xfinity Series and the Truck Series. His two Cup championships in 2015 and 2019, combined with 63 Cup wins, place him firmly among the greatest drivers to ever strap into a stock car. Love him or not, there is no denying that "Rowdy" has left an indelible mark on the sport.

Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Busch was raised in a racing family alongside his older brother Kurt, who also won a Cup championship. Kyle's talent was evident from a young age - he made his Truck Series debut at 16 and his Cup debut at 18 with Hendrick Motorsports in 2005. After a few seasons with Hendrick, he moved to Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008, beginning a partnership that would span 15 years and produce two championships and the bulk of his Cup victories.

His 2015 championship was perhaps his most remarkable accomplishment. After breaking his leg and foot in a crash at Daytona during Xfinity qualifying, Busch missed the first 11 races of the Cup season. He returned and won enough races to qualify for the playoffs, then drove to the championship in Phoenix - an achievement many consider the most improbable title run in NASCAR history.

Busch moved to Richard Childress Racing in 2023 after his long tenure with JGR ended. While the transition to a smaller team has presented challenges, his competitive fire remains undiminished. At 40, he is still capable of winning on any given Sunday, and his experience makes him a valuable asset in the garage. His record-setting Xfinity and Truck wins of 102 and 63 respectively may never be matched, as Cup drivers now race fewer lower-series events than during Busch's peak years.
