Biography
Jack Harvey occupies a unique position in the IndyCar paddock as both a driver and a broadcaster. Born in the village of Bassingham in Lincolnshire, England, Harvey moved to the United States to pursue his open-wheel racing career and has built a life centered around the sport he loves. When he is not behind the wheel, Harvey serves as a pit reporter for Fox Sports' IndyCar coverage, providing insights that only an active driver can offer.
Harvey's racing career began in British Formula 3, and he made the transition to American open-wheel racing through the Road to Indy ladder system. He made his IndyCar debut at the 2017 Indianapolis 500 with Michael Shank Racing in association with Andretti Autosport, and the Indy 500 has remained a cornerstone of his racing calendar ever since. His career-best podium finish came with a third-place result in the 2019 Sonsio Grand Prix, showing his ability to compete with the best.
Harvey spent several seasons as a full-time IndyCar competitor, driving for Meyer Shank Racing and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing among other teams. While a race victory has eluded him, Harvey has consistently demonstrated solid speed and racecraft, particularly on road and street circuits. His understanding of the technical side of the sport, combined with his articulate communication skills, made him a natural fit for the broadcast booth.
For the 2026 Indianapolis 500, Harvey returns to the cockpit with Dreyer and Reinbold Racing, piloting the No. 24 Chevrolet alongside teammate Conor Daly. His dual role as both competitor and broadcaster gives him a perspective few others in the paddock can match. He arrives at the Month of May with the knowledge of an insider and the hunger of a driver still searching for that elusive breakthrough result at the Brickyard.
