Biography
Caio Collet is one of the most decorated young talents to arrive in the NTT IndyCar Series in recent years. Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Collet began racing single-seaters in 2018 and immediately made an impact by winning the French Formula 4 Championship in his debut season. That title caught the attention of the Renault Sport Academy, which signed him in 2019 and later retained him when it rebranded as the Alpine Academy.
From there, Collet competed in the Formula Renault Eurocup, where he finished runner-up in 2020 and established himself as a legitimate prospect for top-level motorsport. He then stepped up to FIA Formula 3 from 2021 to 2023, earning three wins and gaining valuable experience racing on the international stage against the best young drivers in the world.
After his time in Europe, Collet transitioned to North American racing and joined the Indy NXT series with HMD Motorsports in 2024. He earned Rookie of the Year honors that season and followed it up with a runner-up finish in the 2025 championship, solidifying his credentials for a step up to IndyCar. He also served as a reserve driver for the Nissan Formula E Team and made his Formula E debut at the 2024 Portland ePrix, showcasing his versatility across different racing disciplines.
For 2026, Collet joins A.J. Foyt Enterprises to drive the No. 4 Chevrolet in his rookie IndyCar season. Racing for one of the most storied names in American motorsport, Collet carries the hopes of a new generation of Brazilian open-wheel talent. His combination of European pedigree, Indy NXT success, and raw speed makes him one of the most exciting rookies in the 2026 field.
